Ars Musica will hold open rehearsals on Tuesdays March 6th and March 13th at 7:30 PM, at the Unitarian Society of Ridgewood at 113 Cottage Place, Ridgewood, New Jersey.
The open rehearsals will introduce potential members to our music director, James Kennerley, and give anyone who attends the opportunity to meet and speak with other choir members.
Beginning on March 6th we will be rehearsing J. S. Bach’s Mass in B Minor which will be performed on Saturday, May 19th , 2018 with the Adelphi Orchestra at West Side Presbyterian Church in Ridgewood, NJ. The Mass is one of the greatest works in the western canon, with incredible choral movements and virtuosic, powerful solos.
Ars Musica, recognized as one of the most accomplished choruses in the Bergen County area, was founded in 1965 and features a roster of professional singers and dedicated amateurs. Many members have been part of the choir for a decade or more. We welcome newcomers to become part of our community of singers and music-lovers.
This season Ars Musica has performed music by Barber, Rachmaninoff, Poulenc, Gershwin, and more. These open rehearsals on March 6th and 13th will allow potential new members to learn more about singing in the chorale. All interested singers are welcome to join us for a rehearsal. An audition may be scheduled by speaking with our Membership Director at the rehearsal. For more information, visit http://www.arsmusica.org or email info@arsmusica.org. Come! Join us and sing one of J. S. Bach’s most powerful masterpieces, the Mass in B Minor!
