Unitarian Society of Ridgewood
113 Cottage Street, Ridgewood, NJ 07450
We will be rehearsing for our November 22 performance of French masterpieces of the Romantic era, including Maurice Duruflé’s Requiem for chorus and organ. We’ll also take our first look at a new work by our Composer-in-Residence, Joshua Groffman. Scores will be provided. Refreshments will be provided at the conclusion of the rehearsal.
Ars Musica is a concert choral group of approximately 60 voices. Interested singers in all voice parts are invited to attend.
Regular rehearsals are held on Tuesday nights at The Unitarian Society of Ridgewood from September to June. Interested singers who cannot attend on September 9th are welcome to join us at any rehearsal or contact Dusty Francis at (551) 226-9305 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to make audition arrangements.
Any singer who wishes to join Ars Musica will have an informal audition with the choir’s Music Director, Dusty Francis.
A typical audition (private) will include:
- A brief warm-up
- Some sight singing
Maestro Francis is looking to determine the following from the audition:
- A candidate’s voice quality
- Level of vocal technique
- Musical skill
