Do you love to sing? Ars Musica is an auditioned, professionally conducted group of vocal musicians united by their passion for excellence in choral music and their devotion to bringing classical music to the community. A growing 50-voice choir consisting of members from all walks of life, we are bonded by our love of performing beautiful music together. Since 1965, the Chorale has brought choral music to the heart of Bergen County—Ridgewood, New Jersey—through varied concert performances.
We are looking for new members—singers interested in developing their talent and committed to a high level of musical excellence in choral performance, and singers who enjoy the richness of sharing, creating and performing with a group of dedicated musicians. We encourage talented and experienced singers who have a good understanding of choral blend, intonation and languages, in addition to strong sight-reading skills, to consider auditioning for Ars Musica. Become a part of our warm and friendly choir!
Informal auditions with our Music Director, Dusty Francis, will be held before and after rehearsals, or by appointment, during the concert season (early September until mid-June).
A typical audition will include a brief warm-up and some sight singing. Dusty seeks to determine a candidate’s voice quality, level of vocal technique and musical skill.
